Marking Note:
Preformed Copper and other product assemblies comply with Federal legislation and can be used within potable plumbing systems. These products will be identified by labeling and markings on the minimum unit of sale and can be identified by a green label.

Standard Brass

Solid brass or manufactured product with solid brass components that contain more than 0.25% lead by wetted surface weighted average will be marked with the following Yellow label wording:

Illegal to use for potable services. To be used exclusively for non-potable applications.

No Lead Identification:

There has not been a federally developed criterion by which a no lead product should be marked. Many manufacturers put a LL (low lead) or an NL (no lead) or a G (Annex G and/or GreenDot material) on the part.

To clarify what product is manufactured using no lead material; Sioux Chief’s product includes a "G" or "PW-G" on the part marking and or an “NL” on some of our valves or other sourced components. Sioux Chief includes a "G" in our product item number for no lead inventory additions. Sioux Chief’s description for items that have been introduced and have a 'G' within the part number include the phrase "no lead" or "NL" at the back end of the description.

Products that have always been offered in No Lead options have not undergone a product number variation or a description change. These offerings include our naturally no lead / dezincification resistant / SCC resistant PowerPEX copper fittings and many of our copper assemblies. All Sioux Chief no lead product can be referenced within the Sioux Chief catalog and on the Sioux Chief website by looking for the no lead icon or table checkmark. Sioux Chief bag artwork and box labels will include the same No Lead icon.
