Sioux Chief recently implemented a design improvement on select HangsTuff™ DWV pipe hangers. The update involves how the nails are attached to the hanger, which will streamline our production process, improve lead times and reduce any availability issues.
Rather than being pressed into the top of the ‘trunk’, the two ring-shank nails included with each hanger will now be attached to molded-in stanchions (see right). No other changes to the product have been made and you can be assured this solution was thoroughly tested so that the highest levels of quality are maintained and our customers receive consistent, complete product with no missing fasteners.
Currently, only the higher-volume items are affected by this update:
1-1/2” models (553-6W, 553-6WM25)
2” models (553-7W, 553-7WM25)
3” models (553-8W, 553-8WM25)
Nails are held firmly, but can be twisted off the stanchions easily. If a customer has a problem with the remaining plastic on the trunk, it can be snapped off with pliers or a hammer.
The design update will be effective immediately, with some models already in production. Depending on inventory levels, both on our shelves and wholesaler stock, contractors should start seeing the new models in the next couple of weeks.
