Plastics Power Industrial Truck Operator - 2nd Shift

Reports To: Plastics Manager and Assistant Manager
Location: South Kansas City, MO Plant

Position Overview

The PIT Operator is responsible for operating equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack and count product, provides necessary materials to machines in a timely manner as needed for production. The Operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle.

Essential Job Functions

  • Safety and efficiently operate manual handling equipment such as Reach Truck.
  • Track, store and organize all necessary components and products.
  • Remove and store completed orders as needed.
  • Keep preferred locations for product stocked in order to cover all product allocations.
  • Accurately document inventory movements through use of scanners and/or in written form.
  • Accurately complete all paperwork related to order and enter information into Fourth Shift.
  • Provide feedback (written and or oral) on any irregularities, questions or issues to management.
  • Verify counts on “adds”.
  • Pull parts for manufacturing departments as needed.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and practice operation safety at all times. Report any mechanical and or safety problems to Team Leader, Assistant Manager or Manager immediately.
  • Consolidate pallets to efficiently use space in overstock locations.
  • Put pallets in correct size bin locations to efficiently use warehouse space.
  • Must comply with company and department rules and procedures.
  • Maintain general housekeeping duties within the department.

  • Familiarity with RF scanners
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Skill in organization and attention to detail
  • Must be self-motivated and work with minimal supervision.
  • Team oriented and positive attitude
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to engage in bending, stooping, squatting, pushing and pull of parts and containers
  • Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Crown Reach truck experience preferred
  • Previous shipping and warehouse experience in manufacturing environment
